What is Spent in Sedona, Stays in Sedona

I spent the weekend holed up vacation planning. I am orchestrating a trip to Arizona and Las Vegas in April... and this small task is taking over my life.

I surf the web endlessly looking for better hotels, scenic roads, and out-of-the-way landmarks. I've finished up on the "rent a convertible in Phoenix" part. I also wrapped up the first leg of the journey, Phoenix to Sedona, and landed a reservation of the "Javelina" room at the Penrose Bed and Breakfast in Sedona. Based on the photos on this place's website, I will be like a pig in shit when it comes to sweeping desert views. I felt like I was slumming it when I booked a $180 a night room, that's how twisted things have gotten in my vacation planning. What will I be missing out on? Should I just say "fuck it" and go for the $300 a night room? Decisions!

Now, the trip planning proceeds from Sedona to the Grand Canyon, then on to Route 66 and Vegas, baby.
