When the Ghosts Come Marching In

New Orleans is gone. Beautiful, fragile New Orleans is gone.

Even though there's no historical precedent for this, something tells me that when human beings totally abandon a city on an indefinite basis, there will never be a city there again. New Orleans was spooky enough before--what with all the voodoo, cemeteries and vampirism. Now the city will be the home of only alligators, snakes and restless souls. New Orleans will be our Atlantis... a legendary place that was swallowed by the sea.
