USA, USA, USA!

It's that time of year again. The Chicago Air and Water show is this weekend. Today, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are practicing. This is my first time seeing the show from my new pad-- which basically has a wall of windows that looks out over Oak Street Beach, the show's epicenter. Something tells me I'll have a lot of new friends this weekend who want to watch the show in Air Conditioned comfort.

The sights and sounds of the Air Show never cease to amaze me. The F16s are like phantoms that you can hear but can't see until they're already upon you. My emotions have ranged from sheer terror to utter exhiliration this morning. I also will say that this little propaganda party the military displays over the skies of Chicago is effective. When you get buzzed by four jet fighters, going full speed through the city's steel canyons, you can't help but say to yourself, "Fuck, yeah."
